The Tenergy T4s supports rechargeable lithium-ion (Li-ion), lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4), nickel-metal hydride (NiMH), and nickel-cadmium (NiCd) batteries. Compatible sizes include AA, AAA, C, Sub-C, 18650, 26650, 14500, 16340, and several other cylindrical rechargeable formats. Important Compatibility & Safety Notes:
- IMPORTANT: The Tenergy T4s is designed exclusively for supported rechargeable Li-ion, LiFePO4, NiMH, and NiCd batteries. Never attempt to charge disposable alkaline, primary lithium, zinc-carbon, silver oxide, or other non-rechargeable batteries.
- IMPORTANT AAA / 10440 WARNING: According to Tenergy, charging a single AAA or 10440 battery can expose it to charging currents as high as 850mA, which may exceed the battery's safe charging limit and cause overheating, damage, or explosion.
- When charging AAA or 10440 rechargeable batteries, Tenergy recommends using at least two batteries together, positioned in slots 1 and 3 or slots 2 and 4. Always verify that the resulting charging current is within the batteries' permitted charging specifications.
- When charging four batteries simultaneously, the maximum output current is 425mA per slot. When charging one or two batteries, the maximum output current is 850mA per slot.
- Always confirm that the selected charging current is appropriate for the battery's capacity and manufacturer-specified charging limits.
- For lithium-ion and LiFePO4 rechargeable batteries, use the battery-type selector switch to choose the correct 3.7V Li-ion or 3.2V LiFePO4 setting before charging.
- Li-ion and LiFePO4 batteries require different charging voltages. Selecting the wrong battery chemistry can damage the battery or create a safety hazard.
- The charger provides 4.2V, 3.6V, and 1.48V output modes depending on the supported battery chemistry.
- Although the T4s supports multiple battery chemistries and sizes, not every rechargeable battery is compatible. Verify the battery's chemistry, nominal voltage, physical dimensions, terminal contacts, and maximum charging current.
- Only rechargeable 16340 / RCR123A batteries with compatible Li-ion or LiFePO4 chemistry may be charged. Do not charge disposable 3V CR123A lithium photo batteries.
- The T4s is not designed for charging assembled multi-cell battery packs, 9V batteries, lead-acid batteries, or lithium-polymer pouch packs.
- Do not attempt to charge damaged, leaking, swollen, overheated, or otherwise defective batteries.
- Ensure that the positive (+) and negative (-) battery terminals match the polarity markings inside each charging slot.
- Rapidly blinking yellow indicators identify an error condition, including incorrect battery installation. Stop charging and inspect the battery and contacts before proceeding.
- When charging different battery sizes or chemistries simultaneously, ensure that each battery makes secure contact with the charger's terminals.
- Use the charger indoors or inside a vehicle in a dry, ventilated environment.
- The charger's specified safe operating temperature is 0°C to +40°C.
- Do not expose the charger to water, excessive humidity, direct sunlight, open flames, or nearby heat sources.
- Do not disassemble, modify, or operate the charger with damaged electrical connections.
